The future development prospect of UHV

By 2060, when China is carbon neutral, its installed capacity of new energy will increase from 500 million kilowatts to 5 billion kilowatts, and the proportion of new energy power generation will rise from about 10 percent to about 60 percent. In the transmission link, UHV transmission should continue to give full play to its network advantages and functions to support the large-scale grid connection and consumption of new energy.

 

As we all know, new energy is a random and intermittent characteristics, we have no way to control wind power and photovoltaic. At the same time, China has a vast territory, and there are regional and seasonal differences in the power generation of new energy sources. It makes sense that in the east, there might be a week of uninterrupted overcast and no photovoltaic power, while in the west, the sun is shining.
